In this webinar, I will highlight the pivotal role of vocabulary instruction in language education. I make a strong case for dedicating more classroom time to vocabulary teaching, emphasizing that mere exposure is not enough for mastery. The session encourages a shift from focusing solely on individual words to exploring phrases and their contextual use. It also critically examines the practice of guessing word meanings, advocating instead for the use of specialized vocabulary tools and decision-making tasks to create a more effective and engaging learning experience.
